The new tracks include seven original songs penned by Conwell and three cover songs, including a Robert Hazard original called ‘Out of the Blue' that the Young Rumblers have recently added to their live shows.

A year ago this month, Tommy Conwell, performing with David Uosikkinen's In The Pocket at The Ardmore Music Hall, opened his hit, “I’m Not Your Man” with a piece known as "Kiss of Fire"--a popular tango from Argentina.

Capturing Tommy Conwell and TJ Tindall's guitar duel on video during the TCYR classic "Workout" -- in January 2012 at the New Hope Winter Festival -- is one of the greatest pieces of concert footage I'll ever hope to record. 

The whole experience made me feel like I was channeling Martin Scorsese filming The Band. 



That's how I feel about the greatness of David Uosikkinen's In the Pocket -- such an accomplished and first-rate group of musicians.

We'll miss you, TJ.

World Cafe Live - David Uosikkinen’s “In The Pocket: The Essential Songs Of Philadelphia”

Tonight at World Cafe Live, David Uosikkinen’s “In The Pocket: The Essential Songs Of Philadelphia” project celebrates the release of the the fifth song in the series, a cover of the 1981 Robert Hazard And The Heroes song, “Change Reaction” (featuring Ben Arnold on lead vocals).
In The Pocket features members of The Hooters including David Uosikkinen on drums along with Rob Hyman (keyboards and vocals) and John Lilley (guitar), Steve Butler from Smash Palace on guitar, bassist William Wittman and Ben Arnold on lead vocals. All five of the songs recorded by In The Pocket, including “Change Reaction” can be purchased here. Portions of the proceeds go to the Settlement Music School.

David Uosikkinen’s In The Pocket performs at 7:30 p.m. at World Cafe Live; tickets to the show are $17 (a portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit Settlement Music School).
